AV Resource Manager Tuner
Here is a System Extension that you might find useful. It completely removes all _FlushFile calls from the Resource Manager in the SuperMario ROMs. This makes the Resource Manager work like it did in the pre-SuperMario days.
This will only work on AV machines. It will load on other machines, but it shouldn't hurt anything.
There are other who have written something like this, but I felt it could be done a little better. For example, using ResEdit to copy all the resources in a System file took 100 seconds with no patch, 76 seconds with someone else's patch, and 44 seconds with my patch.
Source code is included and I have placed it in the public domain.
